From nursing home to residential palace

The former Olmenhof care home in Amstelveen was empty and decaying. At the same time, young people in Amstelveen had difficulties finding suitable housing. The idea of transforming the care home into youth housing was born.

Together with the municipality of Amstelveen, B-Right Urban Living drew up a plan to make the building suitable for temporary occupation. In order to place temporary residents, adjustments had to be made to the rooms. The construction works took 3 months. In addition to living spaces, there are also communal areas that are filled with social initiatives.
